I'm in the process of ripping some of my DVDs to my hard drive using Handbrake. It works great most of the time.
Second, I have a number of DVDs that have forced subtitles that are not included in the vlc rip. Da Vinci Code is the perfect example, I have not been able to rip this with anything other than vlc, but I have not figured out a way for vlc to include forced subtitles (subtitles only when someone speaks non-English). AV is by Avast. I like it. It's free. :) What I want is to transfer my entire DVD collection (400 titles) to HDD. While I like having the physical library, it would be nice to have everything on the network. VLC apparently will do the job but it isn't quick and the process doesn't appear to be reliable at all.
